What’s in Store for Fall Semester 2011

Welcome to the Society of American Archivists Indiana University Student Chapter blog! We hope you will check here often for the most up-to-date information for news, chapter events and opportunities to get involved in the archival profession.

The school year is fast approaching, and whether you’re a new student or a returning member, we have plenty of ways for you to participate this fall:

  •  Throughout the semester, keep a look out for IU and Bloomington repository tours, where you’ll have the chance to see behind-the-scenes workings of some first-class institutions.
  •  In September, join the conference committee to help plan the one-and-only conference for graduate students and beginning professionals in library science, archives and rare books. Also, watch for the call for papers and proposals for your chance to submit your work!
  •  Be a part of our October outreach project to promote American Archives Month. We’ll scour southern Indiana historical centers and repositories for Civil War related documents and feature them on this blog to get the word out about the important archives in this area.

If you’re not a member of SAA-SC yet, signing up is easy, and to receive important announcements, you can join the SAA-SC listserv. We look forward to seeing you in the fall!
