The Student Chapter of the Society of American Archivists is excited to offer opportunities during American Archives Month to visit and promote local special collections pertaining to Civil War history. These visits are free, and we are arranging small road trips to these locations.

If you are a SLIS student who would like to join us for one or more of these trips, or want to offer to drive, please e-mail us (saa.iub <at> gmail <dot> com) with the following information by Wednesday, September 28.

It’s a great way of seeing what local history sites have to offer throughout southern Indiana and to practice outreach and promotion skills by writing about the collections on the SAA-SC blog. Plus you would have the chance to get to know your fellow archivists!

Oct. 15: Hanover College: Duggan Library, Joseph Wood Evans Memorial Special Collections and Archives Center, Hanover, IN
